Knitting

The Polar Bear

I thoroughly enjoy knitting, unfortunatley I still knit like a newly taught 10 year old so what I do knit tends to take an awfully long time, which normally means i don't finish anything as I tend to get bored and switch to the next project.

My latest switched project was a lilac pullover for my daughter which I dumped after getting way to confused with picking up stitches, so that is now in the bottom of the knitting bag and on my needles is currently a polar bear which I am making for my friends little girls first birthday. Already this attempt at a polar bear for a gift is a complete failure as poor gorgeous Sophia's Birthday was in February!

Anyway, I am battling through my st-st Bear (oooh check me out knitting lingo) and I hope to have it finished by this weekend which means its about a month since I started the little critter.

Here is my effort so far, we are missing ears and a tail...

My knitting technique is not great and I tend to lose all the tension when adding stitches, I am debating whether to actually claim this as a new found skill as I am really not all that sure how I am achieving it, any tips from experienced and more patient knitters are welcome and I will accept all advice graciously.

I will up date you later in the week as to Peters progress (Pete being the Polar Bear by the way).

  1. Can I ask where the polar bear pattern is from? It looks lovelly and my nephew likes bears so could be perfect for him.
